Movie Trivia

Today’s challenge is to name actors who are in two sets of movies with at least three films in the series. For example, Harrison Ford starred in both the Indiana Jones and Star Wars series. There are a few easy ones out there and others that may be more difficult.

There is only one rule: the actor must have been in all three movies of a series, not just one or two. Feel free to add your list of actors (please include the films) in the comments. Just to save you a guess, although Steve Guttenberg acted in at least three Police Academy movies, there were only two Cocoons and two 3 Men and a Baby films.

I’m not sure if this qualifies as trivia, but should give you something to think about on a Monday.

Elijah Wood (I'm not sure if I spelled that right) for the Lord of the Rings Movies

Nevermind....I didn't read correctly and notice that there had to be TWO sets of movies!

I'll start with the easy one - Sylvester Stallone in Rambo and Rocky

Oh yeah - Mel Gibson... Lethal Weapon and Mad Max!

Fun game by the way - going to kill my productivity at work!

Here's a few more:

Mike Myers (Austin Powers movies and Shrek)

Eddie Murphy (Shrek movies and Beverly Hills Cop movies)

Matt Damon (Oceans11-12-13 and the Bourne series)

Nicely done everyone. Stallone was probably the easiest. I will accept the Orlando Bloom, Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Matt Damon answers since they have movies coming out soon. Talia Shire and Mel Gibson were the other actors I know.

At this point, I can't think of anyone else. I'm sure there are more out there. If I think of more, I'll add it here to the comments. (Yes, this is what I'll be doing for the rest of tonight along with watching Prison Break and the Penguin game.)

Patrick Stewart (X-Men and Star Trek movies)

I was certain that Godfather had somebody - but I just couldn't come up with it!

Good job Christine.

Patrick Stewart is a fantastic pull.

Yes - I've got two more:
Leslie Nielsen (Naked Gun, Scary Movie)

Michael J. Fox (Back to the Future, Stewart Little)

Okay - this question had me obsessed for days - I figured out the following on my own:

Ian McKellan - LOTR and X-men

Tim Allen - Santa Clause and Toy Story

The next ones I found while surfing on Wikipedia (gotta love the random things on that site) on a "List of actors who have played in trilogies"

Jackie Chan - Rush Hour and Police Story

Judge Reinhold - Beverly Hills Cop & Santa Clause

Hugo Weaving - LOTR and the Matrix

But the one that takes the cake is Christopher Lee, who is listed in 5 trilogies!!! LOTR, 3 Musketeers, Fu Manchu, Count Dracula, and Sherlock Holmes.

Okay - I think my obsession is over.

Christine & Rinsem - You both receive an A+. I only thought there were a few possibilities, but you far exceeded my expectations. Gold starts for you too!
