One of the biggest hits of this summer was Give Me Everything by Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer. Although Pitbull gets top billing and probably brought everyone together, I think Ne-Yo deserves credit for the song's success based on his chorus alone. It certainly can't be because of Pitbull's rhymes. Let's took a look, shall we?
The song begins with the following lyrics:
Me not working hard?
Yeah right, picture that with a Kodak
Or better yet, go to Times Square
Take a picture of me with a Kodak
So Pitbull rhymed Kodak with Kodak. Really? You're a successful rapper and you can't come up with something that rhymes with Kodak?
Later Pitbull sings/raps:
Baby, baby, and it ain't no secret
My family's from Cuba
But I'm an American Idol
Get money like Seacrest
Secret and Secrest. I guess that's slightly better than Kodak and Kodak, but how is this guy one of the biggest rappers out there? He's certainly not close to the lyrical level of Jay-Z, Kanye or Eminem.
In case you're not familiar with the song, here's the video. Enjoy the magical rhymes!

Hey, Neil Diamond was huge and he rhymed "Songs she sang to me, songs she brang to me." I think Mr. Diamond might have learned a lesson about rhyming here.
Including an example by the brilliant and now Kennedy Center honoree Neil Diamond. Well played, Gilahi, well played.
