I received the following e-mail from StubHub early Monday evening:
Subject: Get great seats to any Washington Nationals playoff game
Hey Sean,
Be there alongside your Washington Nationals as they chase baseball immortality. Go to StubHub, where you’ll find a fantastic selection of tickets to every playoff game – so you experience the championship chase live and in person. Check it out. Go to StubHub and get the seats you want today.
I can see the Washington Nationals chase baseball immortality live and in person? Awesome! Perhaps the Los Angeles Dodgers had to forfeit some games and baseball chose to replace them in the NLCS with the Nationals. However, I feel like I would have heard about this from a source other than StubHub.
Maybe baseball has started a relegation system like they do in the English Premier League. Perhaps the Nationals, Orioles, Pirates, Indians and Royals are fighting to see who will stay in the majors and who will be relegated to AAA. Now that would be baseball immortality!
Later Monday evening I received this e-mail:
Subject: Apologies from StubHub
Earlier today, an email promoting Washington Nationals postseason tickets was sent to you. This, unfortunately, was a mistake. We regret the error and apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.
Sincerely,
The StubHub Team
You better be sorry! I spent countless (none) hours trying to figure out how there where postseason tickets. StubHub, could you at least send me a discount code for the inconvenience and confusion?

There was a Pirates one making the rounds yesterday too. Equally hilarious/tragic.
Hey TheJim - Nice to see you back!
It sounds like StubHub sent these messages to nearly every MLB team. It was either a big mistake where someone is getting fired or a nice publicity stunt!
