I realize that I’m three days early for TMI Thursday, but it’s not every week when the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the Super Bowl. For the non-sports fan readers, you’ll have to excuse me for all of my football coverage this week. I plan to have some entertaining takes on the game as well as an exclusive interview, so it won’t be all sports, but my writing will tend to focus on the Steelers over the next week or so.
For this week’s TMI, I need to admit something that may or may not be a big deal. I really like Taylor Swift’s new song Love Story. While this alone probably isn’t alarming, I am seeing a trend I am not proud of. In May 2008, I admitted to liking a Miley Cyrus song; in December, I wrote that a Britney Spears song is catchy; and just a few weeks ago, I used a TMI Thursday to share my thoughts on The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Am I turning into a 13 year-old girl? The only think I’m missing is a love for the Jonas Brothers. Well, approximately a year ago I wrote that the Jonas Brothers were no Hanson. Well, it turns out that the Jonas Brothers are bigger than Hanson could ever be.
While I'm not writing that I like the Jonas Brothers, I better end this post now before more damage is done.

Frankly, I'm more comfortable reading about you clogging toilets.
who's taylor swift? and what's a jonas brother?
Hey man, listen, you like what you want!
And I mean, I suppose it's better that you like the music of 13 year old girls instead of liking 13 year old girls themselves, right?
I encourage you to embrace your inner-self, it has been held in the darkness too long. Your love of awful teen bopper music must come see the light.
Cotter makes a very good point.
I am not a huge fan of "Love Story," though I like several other Taylor Swift songs -- the more upbeat ones, mostly, like "Should've Said No."
There is, unfortunately, a very catchy Jonas Brothers tune. I forget what it's called, but I think it's their most popular one.
And come on, Jason! You don't have to like everything in pop culture, but ya gotta be a student of the game in your biz!
Most disturbing.
Thanks Gilahi. I'll see how I do in the upcoming week.
Jason - Are you kidding? You really don't know the Jonas Brothers? If it helps, the Obama girls were extremely excited to meet them during the inauguration, and they have their own wax figures at Madam Tusseud's (sp?) in DC.
Cotter - I don't necessarily seek out these songs, but if they come on the radio or the Yahoo music station, I'll listen.
Thanks restaurant! Have I ever mentioned that the second concert I attended was Debbie Gibson?
Archi - I think the big Jonas Brothers hit is Burning Up or Buring for You (not the Blue Oyster Cult song). It's no Mmm Bop! I also agree with you on your comment to Jason.
lacochran - I agree!
It's okay to like bad music. If anyone ever saw my "Most Played" list on my iPod, they'd shudder...
