We interrupt our Steelers Super Bowl coverage for a volunteer opportunity announcement for folks living in the DC area. The Virginia Wine Showcase is taking place next weekend, February 7-8, 2009 at the Dulles Expo Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. Volunteers will receive free admittance to the event on a day they do not volunteer and the chance to sample the region’s finest wines. Plus, the Festival will make a donation to Volunteer Fairfax, a terrific nonprofit organization, for each volunteer recruited. Volunteers are needed the following dates and times:
Saturday, February 7 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Saturday, February 7 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Sunday, February 8 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday, February 8 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Volunteers will be working the front gate checking IDs and processing payments as well as assisting the event coordinators and the exhibitors. The minimum age is 16, but only volunteers 21 years and older may take advantage of free Festival admission. Please email aduffield@volunteerfairfax.org or call (703) 246-3895 with your shift preference or for more information by Monday, February 2.
And remember, Virginia is for Wine Lovers!
