We are on to the Elite 8 round of the Best Pittsburgh Sports Blog Tournament. Whether real or perceived, there seems to be a good amount of discussion regarding apathy towards the Pittsburgh Pirates. However, with Spring Training about to begin, the Steelers season ending in early January and the Penguins on the Olympic break, the Pittsburgh Pirates blogs are the story of this tournament. That and the 7 vs. 8 seeds facing off in the Moe Mantha Division final.
The updated bracket:

Disappointing that there's not a single Penguins blog in the mix.
Impressive showing from the Pirate blogs, disappointing turnout for the Pens blogs.
Disappointing that there's no blogs featuring little horses left
/ouch...still tender
I did my part, voting for Penguins blogs and blogs that involve mini ponies.
Hand of Godard & Bill - It probably doesn't help Penguins blogs that the most popular, The PensBlog, wasn't eligible this year. With that written, I was surprised that PensBurgh and Empty Netters went out so early.
Tecmo - If I run a best mini-pony blog tournament, I know that you'll win!
The writing on PensBurgh is pretty bad (not the ideas per se, but the style and syntax). The front page is often rife with grammatical howlers, clunky word choices, and butchered metaphors. The comment threads can be fun; it's too bad the posts are so painful to read.
Come on Bucsdugout!
Go RTJR!!
