At 3:08 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the mailman/letter carrier (what is the actual position title these days?) delivered the latest Harry Potter book. I hope that I'm not giving anything away, but the book is called "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and the first word in Chapter One is "It." Maybe I have given something away since I just heard thunder and "it" is raining heavily here.
By the way, UPS can ignore my letter from earlier today. Somehow they pawned delivering the book on to the U.S. Postal Service. According to the UPS website, the book is still in transit.

Lucky you. UPS has said "Out for Delivery" to my apartment since 10:30 this morning. Still no book.
I wound up having the same UPS/USPS issue that you had. UPS tracking never confirmed that it was delivered, even though it was. However, because I live in an apartment building, it was dropped off at the front desk (with about 60 other copies, they told me)... but I never got a package slip. I just went down and asked if it was there, and lo an behold, it was.
Congrats on receiving the Harry Potter book! I was really worried yesterday that the book would be delivered and no one would be here. I figured I may not have been able to pick up the book until next week. Of course, this was all moot since it was delivered.
